This is Main Street, Monhegan Island, Maine. There are no paved roads on Monhegan, no cars, almost no electricity. I can promise you, however, that down the rocky ways great beauty does await.

Monhegan is a small privately owned island 13 miles out in the ocean. It is a enclave for artists of all types, really a sort of happenstance art colony, and one of my favorite places.
