This is a painting of Fish Beach, Monhegan Island, Maine. The houses belong to the fishermen here and their dinghies line the shore. Monhegan is a small privately owned island 13 miles out in the ocean. It is a enclave for artists of all types, really a sort of happenstance art colony, and one of my favorite places.
