This chapel serves Monhegan Island, Maine. It is so wonderful...all wooden inside and lit by gas lanterns. Every Sunday there is a different minister for morning service. Evenings are a hymn sing and throughout the week all sorts of lovely events take place. Once when I was there a concert of Irish spirituals was beautifully sung by a woman accompanied only by a violinist. Magical.

Monhegan is a small privately owned island 13 miles out in the ocean. It is a enclave for artists of all types, really a sort of happenstance art colony, and one of my favorite places.
