I love the story that is a quilt. When I was a girl, my grandmother, Kate Hoover, would sew for everyone...shirts, skirts, dresses, coats, etch. She also made each of her grandchildren a quilt--Double Wedding Ring for the girls and Tumbling Block for the boys. They were our graduation present. She had a ton of grands and after she passed, we found a completed quilt for everyone of use down to the great grands still in nappies. This is the best part...in your quilt were the scraps from the clothing she had made for you and family. What a story those quilts told. When I was a child, quilts were often sold at roadside veggie stands. They were beautiful in the sun and I wanted them all.
