Deborah was commission to create an original work of art for the North Carolina OysterFestival, one the souths large, yearly celebrations.  The work became the most popular commemorative poster in the history of the event and was also used merchandise. Deborah was commissioned by the Chamber of Commerce.

Deborah Cavenaugh’s original painting, "I am finding the good each day" was featured on the cover of Tourist News, the weekly guide to Kennebunkport, Cape Porpoise, Goose Rocks Beach, Wells, Ogunquit, and York. An "About the Artist" article appeared inside.  Deborah is represented by the Mast Cove Gallery in Kennebunkport.

Festival of Homes Featured Artist

Deborah was commission by the regional builders association to create a poster and six house portraits to be used for for the 2002 Festival of Homes in Wilmington, NC. She was also . Working from just the blueprints, she imagined and painted a portrait of the finished homes. These portraits graced the homes during the festival and conveyed to the new owners.  The festival poster appeared on a magazine cover.

Deborah  was chosen as the official artist of the Azalea Festival 2001, the largest festival in southeastern USA.  Her artwork graced posters, event programs, and merchandise,  It is  pictured here on the cover of the Azalea Festival Magazine.

Deborah was chosen as the official Artist of the 2000 Azalea Festival, the largest festival in southeastern US.  The art appeared on posters, merchandise, and the Azalea Festival Magazine, pictured here. The merchandise featuring Deborah's work was the the best selling in the history of the Azalea Festival at the time.

Ms. Fasig interviews George White, creative director of Gibson Cards, asking how he discovered Deborah’s art and why he created a spot for her in the new Gibson Greetings card series, “Artist’s Corner,” which features, among others, Flavia and Laura Ashely.  Mr. White on Deborah’s work:  “The more I see it, the more I like it,” Mr. White said of the art. “She paints things that I like in a unique way…”
